2nd Northwood is a thriving Scout Group with Scouts, Cubs and Beavers plus a Squirrel Drey is currently being trialled. Our sections meet weekly at St Edmund’s Church Hall, go on sleepovers, camps and take part in activity days. We have teams of adult leaders for scouts and cubs and are looking to build up the same beaver and squirrel leadership teams to assist in the planning and delivery of an exciting programme of outdoor activities, crafts, games, challenges and camps.

Being an Adult Volunteer Leader is a fun and rewarding role and is ideal for people who enjoy working with young people. Over time you will see members grow in confidence and ability as they learn from the programme you help run. No experience is necessary and full training is given; subject to DBS and references of course.

Our Sections

With Scouting sections for children aged 4 to 14 we offer skills, adventure, teamwork, service and friendship. Explore our sections below.

4 to 6 years

When you join Squirrels, you’ll be introduced to loads of new activities, people and things.

8 to 10½ years

Develop new skills. Soar to great heights. Being a Cub opens up a whole other world.

6 to 8 years

Try new things. Make new friends. Joining Beavers is just the beginning of your big adventure.

10½ to 14 years

Jump in and get muddy. Give back and get set. Scouts ignore the butterflies and go for it, and soon so will you.
